I studied Geography in Heidelberg, Germany and later on applied system science in Osnabrück, Germany. In Osnabrück I also got my PhD working on the Elbe-DSS, a decision support tool for watershed management at the river Elbe. Afterwards I moved to the Helmholtz Centre for Environmental Research - UFZ in Leipzig, Germany were I worked at the department for computational landscape ecology. In 2012 I moved to the University of Bonn there I hold a position as an assistance professor for land use modelling and ecosystem services.
